Weddings are usually a melodramatic affair, but this bridesmaid who got dumped by the bride in the worst way possible might take the cake.
The bridesmaid, Courtney Duffy, went viral on Friday when she tweeted to ask JetBlue to adjust her cross-country plane tickets to the wedding because she was asked “to relinquish” her “duties as a bridesmaid.” Duffy included the horrifying email she had received the day before from the bride-to-be.
“I am laughing & crying & must avoid this wedding at all costs,” Duffy wrote. “Pls help?”
SOS @JetBlue! Booked my X-C flights for a wedding, then was asked "to relinquish" my "duties as a bridesmaid" & mail my bridesmaid outfit X-C so another girl could fill in and wear it (Happy bday to me!) I am laughing & crying & must avoid this wedding at all costs. Pls help? pic.twitter.com/OrZUptt34w

The attached email from Alex is a passive-aggressive request for Duffy to step down from the bridesmaid position because she wouldn’t be able to attend the full wedding weekend, apparently due to a school conflict. Worse, Alex asks Duffy to mail back her bridesmaid jumpsuit (yes, jumpsuit) so a replacement friend could wear it.
“Please don’t feel like you’re letting me down, I am asking you to do this,” Alex writes in the email.
Luckily, JetBlue quickly came to Duffy’s rescue and asked her to contact the company to work something out, though it’s unclear what the airline did to help. Neither Duffy nor JetBlue immediately responded to the Daily Dot’s request for comment.
Yikes! Send us your confirmation code via DM. We're happy to go over option with you. https://t.co/xSmyP7Lfyg

Meanwhile, the people of Twitter have rallied behind Duffy, encouraging her to dump her so-called friend and take a vacation instead.
Please transfer this ticket to a beach location, and send the bride a picture of you swimming in the ocean in the jumpsuit.

Sounds like Courtney could really benefit from a relaxing weekend away from school and her nightmare ex-friend. Fly her someplace fabulous instead!

And note to future brides: Twitter really hates the idea of a bridesmaid jumpsuit.
Your bridesmaid outfit was a JUMPSUIT? Girl, that is a bullet dodged.

Unless you are a paratrooper, there is no conceivable event worth flying cross country toting a jumpsuit.
